By Gal Bishop
There is no time to waste...summer is almost here and that means swimsuits, shorts and cellulite! But how would
it feel to just forget about the cellulite part? If you think that sounds impossible...keep reading.
Having an impact on nearly ninety percent of all women, this embarrassing condition, also known as orange peel
or cottage cheese skin due to its appearance, cellulite can be caused in a variety of ways. Although most people
associate it with fat, this isn't always the case. Although it is commonly caused by fatty tissue under the skin,
thin women also suffer from cellulite. It can also be hereditary, as well as simply a matter of aging or the type
of skin you have. Thankfully, there are a number of treatments you can use to eliminate it in some cases, and
reduce it in the majority of all cases.
Diet and exercise – since fatty deposits under the skin are a prime cause of cellulite, watching your diet can
help prevent the most severe cases. Instead of sugary and fatty foods such as chocolate and sweets, look at eating
fruit and other fiber-rich products. Think about starting a fitness program too – by toning the skin around the
fatty areas, you can greatly reduce the appearance of cellulite on the skin.
Anti cellulite gels, creams and lotions – available over the counter at your local pharmacy or
department store, there are literally hundreds of cellulite reduction creams and lotions available. Used in a
similar manner to skin firming lotions, these creams smooth the skin before toning it and revitalizing it.
Although they won't always eliminate it completely, these lotions are quite effective when it comes to cellulite
reduction and improving the skin's appearance.
If the appearance of your cellulite is too severe for the common cellulite remedies, you may wish to consider
professional cosmetic treatments. There are two primary methods at the moment, which are the most popular when it
comes to cellulite reduction. The first is laser treatment, which works by burning away the fatty tissue
under the skin. However, the results can vary from person to person.
The second is a fairly new treatment called Endermologie. Similar to a deep massage treatment, this cellulite
treatment method uses a combination of rollers to massage the skin, with a series of small motor-operated vacuums
to suck the skin up. This process tightens and tones the skin at the same time, greatly reducing the appearance of
the affected area. Although cellulite reduction results have proven successful with Endermologie, it can be
expensive for the multi-course treatments generally required for lasting benefits.
Although cellulite can be embarrassing for those who suffer from it, there are solutions available. With the
different cellulite remedies and reduction treatments available, there is an option for everyone.
